CA becomes first national organization to call on President Obama to extend Open Enrollment period to purchase health insurance to May 15

Communicating for America is calling on President Obama to extend the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) open enrollment period for individuals to sign up for a health insurance plan without facing a penalty. 

In a statement picked up by dozens of top news outlets, CA Chairman Jeff Smedsrud urged the Administration to give consumers more time to enroll in new health plans. He noted that President Obama recently waived certain provisions of the health law for businesses and said consumers should be given same flexibility.  A full copy of of the release is available here.
